There is a bug in Netscape Communicator 4.6 Win95 (probably all 4.x are affected) which allows checking for the existence of non empty directories.
If you enter a nonexistent directory, you will need to exit Netscape, and kill with CTRL-ALT-DEL all Netscape processes.
Workaround: Disable Javascript.
